Greenwood Academy: Inspiring Year 9 Students for Future Success
At Greenwood Academy in Birmingham, Nick Cheese wanted to provide his Year 9 students with insights into what it takes to build a successful future. To achieve this, he used F4S to connect with local business leaders and invite them to speak to 150 students about careers, skills, and pathways to success.
Nick welcomed four inspiring speakers into the school:
• Carl Adkins, Founder of Infinityccs.com
• Michaela Powell, Owner and MD of Aspire People Limited
• Ewen Anderson, Founder of Centralis Transformations Limited
• Stuart Mackintosh, Director at Xi Software Limited
A Shared Experience

The event provided valuable advice, inspiring students to think about their future ambitions and careers. For the speakers, it was equally rewarding.
“I hope the pupils benefited from the event as much as the speakers! For me, it was of great value to put my mind to the lessons I had learned and how I should communicate this to the students at Greenwood. If this inspired just one person, it was well worthwhile.”
– Stuart Mackintosh
“I was very pleased to be able to help the staff at Greenwood Academy provide their pupils with a view on what the world of work can be like, and what employers are looking for when hiring young people. I’d strongly recommend it to other speakers and schools.”
– Ewen Anderson
A Step Towards the Future
By connecting students with real-life business leaders, Greenwood Academy gave its Year 9 students the opportunity to hear first-hand about career journeys, challenges, and success stories. These interactions are vital in raising aspirations and helping young people prepare for the world of work.
At F4S, we believe every student should have access to inspirational role models. If you’re a teacher looking to organise an event at your school, get started for free!
