What the Programme Delivers

Build Real Financial Capability

Students learn practical money skills including income, taxation, budgeting, credit, financial risk and long-term planning — building confidence to make informed financial decisions.

Apply Learning Through Simulation

Students manage £100,000 virtual portfolios using a safe trading simulation, analysing market data, company news and financial reports to test strategies and reflect on outcomes.

Develop Critical Thinking and Teamwork

Students work in teams of 3–4, developing collaboration, communication and strategic thinking while making decisions in uncertain market conditions.

Connect Learning to the Real World

Through mentor insight and real financial market scenarios, students see how economic change, business decisions and financial markets interact.

How the Programme Works

The programme runs over three weeks and combines structured lessons with independent learning.

Students:

  • Complete modular lessons on budgeting, credit, markets, investing and ethics
  • Learn through short mentor videos and guided activities
  • Work collaboratively to analyse information and make financial decisions
  • Apply their learning through a national stock picking simulation challenge

All trading activity takes place using virtual portfolios and fictional capital only.
Students do not trade real money or open financial accounts.

Students learn how markets work while developing responsible decision-making and ethical awareness.

Get Involved

The pilot programme aims to reach 2,000 students across UK schools, with participation open to students from all subject backgrounds, not just economics or maths.
